Mangiare Bene

Mangiare Bene

The School
Mangiare Bene cooking classes in rolling olive hills outside Rome integrate a delightful, hands-on food experience with daily outings to culturally rich medieval hilltowns known for their antiquities, historic architecture, festivals, artisanal food production, restaurants, nature walks, and exquisite scenery. Special interests are also tailored for artists, singles, book clubs, or yoga practitioners. Two unique locations to choose from: a nature preserve along the Tevere, or a hilltown palace furnished in antiques. Organize a group of eight and go free yourself. Mangiare Bene

The Classes

Participants discover the wonders of “Sabina’s gold”—the area’s unparalleled olive oil— and fresh, homemade cheeses and meats prepared by organic farmers. After learning to make pasta, gnocchi, ragu, salads, and succulent meat courses, dinner follows with outside guests often invited to offer conversation on local history or food traditions. Daytime outings include choice restaurant dining, picnics, and stops for specialty foods, such as homemade gelato by the corner caffe owner.
